2026 Jeep starting prices at a glance
These are approximate national starting MSRPs as of mid-2026, and they move week to week with incentives. Use them to ballpark, then check our live new inventory for the exact trucks on our lot and today's pricing.
| 2026 Model | Approx. starting MSRP | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Jeep Wrangler (2-door Sport) | Mid-$30,000s | Open-air driving, max trail capability, classic Jeep |
| Jeep Gladiator (Sport) | From about $39,800 | Truck bed plus 4x4, towing up to 7,700 lbs properly equipped |
| Jeep Compass | Low $30,000s | Lowest price of entry, daily commuting, MPG |
| Jeep Grand Cherokee (Laredo) | Around $40,400 | Family space, comfort, towing up to 6,200 lbs properly equipped |
| Jeep Recon Moab (electric) | Around $67,000 | 650-hp EV off-roader, lowest "fuel" cost |
Starting MSRPs exclude destination charges, taxes, and dealer fees, and reflect properly-equipped configurations where a maximum capability is shown. The Compass base trim changed for 2026 (the prior base Sport was dropped), and the Gladiator base Sport is sparse on lots, where most stocked units are Sport S and up, commonly in the $43,000s to $47,000s.
Most real-world buyers do not buy a stripped base model. Once you add four doors, popular tech and safety packages, and 4x4, a Wrangler commonly lands in the low-to-mid $40,000s, and a well-equipped Grand Cherokee in the high $40,000s to low $50,000s. A loaded Wrangler Rubicon 392 can clear $60,000 to about $80,000.
Lease vs. finance: which is smarter for you?
There is no universal answer, because it depends on how you drive. Here is the honest breakdown we give customers at the desk.
| Leasing | Financing | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly payment | Usually lower | Usually higher |
| You own it? | No, you return or buy out at lease end | Yes, once it is paid off |
| Mileage | Capped (often 10,000 to 15,000/yr), overage fees apply | Unlimited |
| Modifications (lifts, tires, lights) | Discouraged, must return to stock | Do whatever you want |
| Best fit | New Jeep every 2 to 3 yrs, lower miles, want lowest payment | Keep it long-term, high miles, want equity, plan to build it |

Where the savings actually come from
1. Manufacturer incentives
Jeep runs cash allowances, special APR, and lease offers that change monthly and vary by model and region. Slower-moving trims and the higher-priced electric Recon often carry the strongest incentives. See what is live right now on our manufacturer incentives and new vehicle specials pages.
2. Your trade-in
A trade is the fastest way to cut your out-the-door number and your monthly payment. If you own a used Jeep, you are in luck, because demand for pre-owned Wranglers and Gladiators in the Seacoast market is strong, which tends to mean strong trade values. Get a real trade-in value here before you shop.
3. No NH sales tax (if you are a NH resident)
New Hampshire has no general sales tax, so a NH resident pays $0 sales tax when registering the vehicle in New Hampshire. On a $45,000 Jeep, that is roughly $2,500 to $3,000 you would pay in a 6% state, kept in your pocket. Maine and Massachusetts buyers face different rules, which we cover in our cross-border buying guide.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a new Jeep Wrangler in 2026?
A 2026 Jeep Wrangler starts in the mid-$30,000s for a 2-door Sport and runs past $80,000 for a loaded Rubicon 392. Most buyers land in the $40,000s once they add four doors and popular packages. Pricing changes weekly with incentives, so confirm against live inventory.
Is it better to lease or finance a Jeep?
Lease if you want a lower monthly payment, drive under about 12,000 miles a year, and like a new Jeep every two to three years. Finance if you keep vehicles long-term, drive a lot of miles, or want to build equity and modify your Jeep. We can run both side by side.
Do New Hampshire residents pay sales tax on a Jeep?
No. New Hampshire has no general sales tax, so NH residents pay $0 sales tax when they register the vehicle in New Hampshire. Out-of-state buyers owe their home state's tax at registration.
