The Compass is Jeep's compact SUV, running six trims from $29,550 to $35,555 excluding the $1,995 destination charge. Every one of them uses the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, making 200 horsepower and 221 lb-ft through an eight-speed automatic, and every one carries four-wheel drive as standard equipment. It seats five, returns an EPA-rated 26 mpg combined (fueleconomy.gov), and holds 59.8 cubic feet of cargo with the second row folded. For a buyer in Dover, Exeter or Somersworth the headline is that standard four-wheel drive, heated seats and a heated steering wheel all start at the bottom of the range, which covers a Route 16 or Route 101 commute in February without stepping up a trim.
Two things changed for 2026. The base Sport trim was dropped, which is why the entry price reads higher than a year-over-year glance suggests, and two Altitude appearance trims plus a mid-year 85th Anniversary Edition joined the lineup. The trim to understand is the Trailhawk: at $34,060 it sits below the top-priced Limited Altitude, because it spends its money on hardware rather than finish, including a low range with a 20:1 crawl ratio and 8.6 inches of ground clearance.
