2026 Jeep Compass vs 2026 Chevy Equinox

Serving Portsmouth, NH

Among smaller crossover SUVs, the 2026 Jeep Compass and the 2026 Chevy Equinox are strong options for serious auto shoppers. These models both showcase individualized styling and offer a solid mix of features across all trim levels. However, once you understand the differences between the Compass and the Equinox, it becomes easy to determine which model is the best option for your specific needs.

Performance

The 2026 Jeep Compass is available with one powertrain for all four trim levels. This is a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 200 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. This system is compatible with standard all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The 2026 Equinox, on the other hand, has three trim levels. Each one is loaded with a turbo 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. The system delivers 175 horsepower with 184 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive and a CVT are standard. However, an eight-speed auto transmission and all-wheel drive are also available.

Appearance

The Compass's style is both captivating and effortless with tall, confident dimensions and smoothly accentuated surfaces. To align with Jeep's signature body language, the fenders are slightly squared off, and the rectangular grille has Jeep's column-style design. At the sides of the grille, the LED headlights have a rectangular quality. An innovative, dark accent line runs between the bumper and grille, and it holds the small fog lights.

The Equinox also has a tall stance with well-defined fenders. The lower body is accentuated by dark molding that extends from bumper to bumper. The short hood makes a sharp descent toward the grille. The large grille features a loose mesh pattern, topped by a chrome accent bar that extends outward to the headlights. The small headlights have a linear quality, and they are mounted above tall accent lighting.

Features

The Equinox and the Compass are offered with some of the same features, including a wireless hotspot, wireless smartphone app connections, lane departure mitigation, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a digital instrument panel, a blind-spot warning, and a hands-free power liftgate, among others.

The Compass is also available with a panoramic sunroof, a nine-speaker Alpine audio system, driver's memory settings, an automated parking system, a wireless charging pad, and several additional features.
