Trim-by-Trim Equipment Breakdown

Latitude

At $29,990 before destination, Latitude includes heated cloth front seats, remote start, heated outside mirrors and 17-inch aluminum wheels with all-season tires. The 8.4-inch display handles Uconnect, and a separate 7-inch display shows information in the instrument cluster. Both front seats adjust manually. On a cold morning in Dover, the mirrors and seat heaters do useful work well before the cabin heats up.

Latitude Altitude

Latitude Altitude is the first step up from the base trim at $32,205 before destination. The 10.1-inch Uconnect screen is the part the driver sees and uses from inside. The 18-inch gloss-black wheels, black window moldings and neutral gray exterior badges change the look outside. The larger wheels come with 225/55R18 all-season tires. The trim makes sense for someone in Stratham or Newmarket who wants the darker look and a larger display in the Latitude cabin.

Limited

At $34,150 before destination, Limited moves up to leatherette seats and an eight-way power driver's seat with power lumbar adjustment. Two front passengers can set their own cabin temperatures through dual-zone automatic climate control. A heated wheel, rain-sensitive wipers, wiper de-icer and foot-activated power liftgate all come in the factory equipment. The 18-inch wheels have a diamond-cut finish. A wireless phone charging pad sits in the cabin, and the 10.25-inch driver display is separate from the 10.1-inch center screen.

Trailhawk

Trailhawk starts at $34,650 before destination, $500 above Limited. Its 17-inch wheels are paired with taller-profile all-terrain tires, and the suspension is set up for uneven surfaces. Skid plates protect parts below the vehicle. Red tow hooks, hill descent control and the Trailhawk's Rock setting are the other clues to what it is built for. Its seats use a cloth and leather-trimmed combination. The cabin still offers the power driver's seat, heated wheel, wireless charging and dual-zone climate control.

Limited Altitude

Limited Altitude starts at $35,145 before destination, a $995 step above Limited. It keeps the comfort focus of the Limited, with the dark exterior treatment as the reason to choose it. Its 19-inch painted wheels, black window moldings, gloss-black grille surround and piano-black interior trim make up the appearance step. Drivers who want the blacked-out style with the Limited's more adjustable front seat and liftgate will land here, while the Latitude Altitude puts the same broad styling idea at a lower price.

Common Compass Trim Comparisons in NH

Latitude vs. Latitude Altitude

Both give you heated front seats, adaptive cruise with stop and go and the same standard 4x4. The Altitude moves up a wheel size and adds more screen area. Its appearance pieces are grouped together, so a dark exterior style goes along with the new wheel finish and the bigger display.

Latitude Altitude vs. Limited

These two already share the 10.1-inch touchscreen size. Limited adds the comfort equipment that matters in a shared car, including a power driver's seat, separate climate zones and a heated steering wheel. Its hands-free liftgate makes a bigger difference if you often load shopping bags or school gear on Lafayette Road or make frequent stops along Route 101 than the screen size does.

Limited vs. Trailhawk

Both have substantial cabin equipment, so the reason to pick Trailhawk is largely what happens beyond pavement. The lower-speed 4x4 gearing, all-terrain tires and skid plates are its equipment. Limited has all-season tires and bright-finish wheels, a better match for someone who uses the Compass mainly on paved roads around Exeter and Durham.

Value Verdict and Step-Up Guide

Limited is the strongest comfort step for a daily driver. The $1,945 step from Latitude Altitude adds power and lumbar adjustment, separate front climate zones and a powered hatch. The Latitude Altitude is the style and screen step, while Trailhawk is the step for drivers who use the low-speed traction gear.

2027 Jeep Compass Trim FAQs

Is 4x4 an extra-cost option on Latitude?

Four-wheel drive is standard equipment on Latitude and the other four trims, so the starting price already includes it. Latitude uses Jeep Active Drive. Trailhawk uses Jeep Active Drive Low, which changes the low-speed capability for uneven ground while retaining the same engine.

How much is the factory destination charge in NH?

The factory destination charge in New Hampshire is $1,995. Add it once to the factory starting MSRP for a like-for-like trim comparison. On Latitude that moves the factory starting figure from $29,990 to $31,985 before any optional equipment, taxes or fees.

Which trim has the smaller touchscreen?

Latitude comes with an 8.4-inch center touchscreen. Latitude Altitude gets a 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, as do Limited, Trailhawk and Limited Altitude. These measurements describe the screen in the center of the dash, which is separate from the driver’s instrument display.

What is the difference between the two Altitude trims?

Latitude Altitude adds dark accents, 18-inch gloss-black wheels and the 10.1-inch touchscreen to Latitude. Limited Altitude starts with the Limited’s power seat and leatherette cabin, then adds its own dark accents and 19-inch wheels. Compare the cabins first if you share the car with another driver.

What does the Limited use for seat upholstery?

Limited uses leatherette upholstery, which it shares with Limited Altitude. The Latitude and Latitude Altitude use premium cloth, while Trailhawk pairs cloth with leather trim. If the seat material is the deciding factor, those choices narrow the search before you compare power adjustment or wheel finishes.

Does the Trailhawk have a different engine?

Trailhawk keeps the same 2.0-liter turbo four, 200 horsepower and eight-speed automatic as the other trims. The off-road equipment includes Jeep Active Drive Low, Rock mode, skid plates and 215/65R17 all-terrain tires. Those are the hardware differences to compare if you regularly drive on uneven ground.

Which Compass has a heated steering wheel?

Limited, Limited Altitude and Trailhawk have a heated steering wheel in their standard equipment. The Limited Altitude carries over the Limited’s cabin equipment. If wheel heat is your main reason to step up from Latitude, Limited is the lowest starting MSRP among those three trims.
