Jeep Portsmouth sells and services the 2027 Compass on Lafayette Road. The five-trim lineup includes the entry Latitude, two Altitude models, Limited and Trailhawk.
Latitude has a $29,990 starting MSRP before the $1,995 destination charge. With destination it starts at $31,985, before options, taxes and fees. Heated front seats, remote start and four-wheel drive are already part of the Latitude equipment, so they do not require a trim upgrade.
Limited Altitude has the highest starting MSRP at $35,145 before destination or $37,140 with destination. It keeps the Limited’s leatherette cabin and power driver’s seat, then adds dark exterior accents and 19-inch wheels. Compare those appearance changes against the $995 step from Limited.
Trailhawk starts at $34,650 before destination, or $36,645 with destination included. The all-terrain tires, skid plates and Active Drive Low system are part of the trim. That price makes it a $500 step from Limited before you add individual options.

Two Compass SUVs with the same trim name can have different optional equipment, so compare the actual listings when a feature matters.
Limited offers a dual-pane panoramic roof through the optional Sun, Sound and Navigation Group. The group also adds Alpine audio and onboard Uconnect navigation. When you compare Limited listings, look for the package name to tell whether the roof is included on a particular vehicle.

The U.S. 2027 Compass uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 200 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. It comes with an eight-speed automatic and four-wheel drive. Those engine figures apply to the entire U.S. lineup, including Trailhawk and the two Altitude trims.
The 2027 Compass factory labels show 21 mpg city and 29 mpg highway, with 24 mpg combined. Use city mileage as the more relevant reference if most trips are short and slow. A longer highway drive has a separate rating, and both figures are test-cycle results.
The U.S. Compass lineup uses a turbo gasoline engine across all five trims. The larger Cherokee offers Jeep’s self-charging hybrid powertrain. If you want a hybrid, compare the Cherokee’s added length and cargo space with how you use your parking spot and rear seats.
Snow is one of the Selec-Terrain settings included on Latitude and the other Compass trims. It changes how the vehicle responds when grip is limited. In winter, use the mode alongside suitable tires and leave yourself room to slow down on slippery roads.
Yes. Jeep gives the properly equipped 2.0-liter 4x4 Compass a 2,000-pound maximum trailer weight and a 200-pound maximum tongue weight. Count the weight of the empty trailer plus everything you load on it. Tongue weight also counts against the vehicle’s available carrying capacity.
Yes. The electric parking brake is operated with a switch in the cabin. Pull the switch to apply it. The owner’s manual describes releasing it with the ignition on and your foot on the brake pedal. Check the indicator before driving away.
Uconnect 5 supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with a compatible phone. They let you access supported maps, music and messaging from the center screen. Built-in navigation is a separate feature, so check the optional equipment if you want maps that run on the vehicle itself.
Yes. Latitude has a 7-inch driver display, while Limited, Limited Altitude and Trailhawk have a 10.25-inch driver display. It shows vehicle information in front of you. The Uconnect touchscreen in the center is a separate screen used for functions such as audio and phone integration.
Forward collision warning with active braking is standard. The 2027 Compass also includes pedestrian and cyclist emergency braking. These features help when the system detects a possible collision ahead. The driver still needs to watch for traffic and people, especially when visibility is limited.
Limited includes a foot-activated power liftgate. With the key nearby, the rear sensor responds to a foot motion under the bumper, which is useful when your hands are full. Limited Altitude and Trailhawk include the same feature as standard equipment, so you have three trim choices for hands-free loading.
Use the standard backup camera to see the area directly behind the Compass. Rear cross-path detection can warn of traffic approaching from the sides while you reverse. In a narrow driveway, both are useful because a wall or parked car can hide traffic from view until you reach the opening.
Trailhawk includes red front and rear recovery hooks. They are part of its off-road equipment alongside skid plates and hill descent control. If you want to pull a utility trailer, use the rated towing hardware and follow the separate trailer and tongue-weight limits in the owner’s manual.
The Latitude Altitude uses gloss-black 18-inch wheels with 225/55R18 tires. Limited Altitude uses 19-inch wheels with 235/45R19 tires. The two share a dark appearance theme, but the wheel and tire specifications are different. That distinction matters if you are pricing tires for winter or replacing a damaged wheel.
Limited, Limited Altitude and Trailhawk have dual-zone automatic temperature control. It lets the driver and front passenger select separate temperature settings. If two people often ride together and prefer different temperatures, Limited is the lowest-priced trim of those three at its factory starting MSRP.
Yes. Remote start is standard on Latitude, alongside heated front seats and heated mirrors. It is useful when the Compass is parked outside on a cold morning. Follow the manual’s remote-start instructions and use it only where engine exhaust can disperse safely.
Start with Latitude if your commute is mostly paved and your priorities are heated seats, adaptive cruise and all-season tires. Limited adds a power driver’s seat, heated steering wheel and separate temperature settings for the front passengers. Those additions are worth comparing in person if the car has two regular drivers. The five-year or 60,000-mile powertrain limited warranty applies to covered engine, transmission and drive-system components, whichever limit comes first. The basic limited warranty runs for three years or 36,000 miles. Mopar’s warranty booklet lists the covered parts, exclusions and how to obtain warranty service.
The Compass shows an oil change message in the instrument cluster. Mopar calls for changing the oil within 500 miles of that message and sets an outer limit of 10,000 miles, one year or 350 engine hours. The service includes a filter replacement and an indicator reset. See Jeep service department.
Yes. Jeep Portsmouth can inspect the brakes after a winter of wet roads and salt around Rye. If you notice noise, a change in pedal feel or a vibration, mention the speed and conditions when it happens. The technician can use those details to narrow down the source of the sound or vibration.
Yes. Jeep Portsmouth can rotate the tires and check inflation and tread wear during the same visit. Mopar calls for rotation at the first sign of irregular wear. Bring up uneven wear when booking so the service team can inspect the cause as well as rotate the tires.
The Mopar parts department at Jeep Portsmouth supplies items such as floor protection and cargo-area accessories. Have the year, trim and any relevant dimensions handy. If you need a cargo mat, think about whether you normally keep the rear seat upright or carry gear with it folded.
For a purchase that depends on cargo room, the Compass has 27.2 cubic feet behind the upright rear seat and 59.8 cubic feet with the rear seat folded. Those are two different loading setups.

Yes. Both drivers can try the Latitude’s manual front-seat adjustments and the Limited’s power driver’s seat with lumbar support. During the drive, have each driver set the seat, mirrors and steering wheel from scratch. That shows how easy it is to change the driving position between trips.
