The 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer starts at $63,995, seats seven as standard or eight with the available second-row bench, and tows up to 10,000 pounds with a conventional hitch on a properly equipped four-wheel-drive short-wheelbase build. For NH buyers it is the largest thing Jeep builds, and for 2026 it is a meaningfully different vehicle than it was a year ago. The nameplate absorbed the standard Wagoneer, the price of entry dropped by more than twenty thousand dollars, and the whole lineup now wears a Jeep badge. For a family on the NH Seacoast running I-95 south on weekdays and Route 16 north toward Lake Winnipesaukee on weekends, that combination of three real rows and a genuine tow rating is the reason this SUV makes the shortlist.
One thing to get right up front, because most of what is written about this truck online is a year out of date: every 2026 Grand Wagoneer uses the Standard Output version of the 3.0-liter Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six, rated 420 horsepower and 468 lb-ft. The 510-horsepower High Output engine that defined the old Grand Wagoneer is not part of the 2026 lineup. This page walks the powertrain, the trims and pricing, the technology, the interior, the towing and cargo numbers, and then routes you to the deeper research pages and the Grand Wagoneers in stock at our Portsmouth showroom, a short drive from Dover, Exeter and Hampton.
Powertrain
2026 Grand Wagoneer Engines and Powertrain
There is one gasoline engine, and it is the same one on every trim from the base car to the Summit Reserve. That engine, a 3.0-liter Hurricane twin-turbocharged inline-six, is rated 420 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 468 lb-ft at 3,500 rpm and drives through a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic. Jeep recommends mid-grade 89 octane and lists regular 87 as acceptable, so premium is neither required nor recommended.
3.0L Hurricane Twin Turbo, Standard on Every Trim
A straight-six is an inherently balanced layout, and the practical effect is a big SUV that pulls smoothly from low revs instead of needing to be wound out. Peak torque arrives at 3,500 rpm, which is where you actually use it merging onto the Spaulding Turnpike out of Dover with the third row full. Rear-wheel drive is standard on the base Grand Wagoneer and four-wheel drive is a $3,000 option; the Limited Altitude and Summit Obsidian configurations are four-wheel drive only.
The four-wheel-drive system comes two ways. Order it without options and you get a single-speed full-time case carrying six drive modes and no low range. Tick the two-speed case and you gain Rock mode plus a 2.64 low range; it travels with the 3.92 axle inside the Heavy-duty Trailer Tow package. Quadra-Lift air suspension with semi-active damping is available and standard on Summit.
Fuel economy by configuration
EPA rates the Grand Wagoneer on regular gasoline. The short-wheelbase two-wheel-drive model returns 17 mpg city, 24 highway and 19 combined; short-wheelbase four-wheel drive is 17/23/19. The long-wheelbase Grand Wagoneer L is 17/24/19 in two-wheel drive and 16/22/18 in four-wheel drive (fueleconomy.gov). The short-wheelbase car carries a 26.5-gallon tank and the L carries 30.5 gallons, so a highway run from the Seacoast up to the White Mountains and back is comfortably a one-fill trip in either body.
The Range
Grand Wagoneer Trim Lineup and Pricing
Prices below are base MSRP as advertised in NH and exclude the $2,795 destination freight charge, tax, title, license, dealer fees and optional equipment. Underneath the retail lineup sit three engineering trims, Grand Wagoneer, Limited and Summit, and the Upland, Altitude, Reserve and Obsidian names are equipment and appearance packages layered on top of those. What you shop, and what our inventory carries, is the seven configurations below.
| Configuration | Base MSRP | Who it is for |
|---|
| Grand Wagoneer | $63,995 | The full seven-seat package, Capri leather, 12-inch touchscreen. Rear-drive standard. |
| Limited Altitude | $72,060 | Blacked-out exterior treatment on the Limited, four-wheel drive only. |
| Upland | $73,060 | The trail-leaning build: air suspension, skid plates, all-terrain tires, tow hardware. |
| 85th Anniversary Edition | $75,990 | Commemorative build marking 85 years of Jeep. |
| Limited Reserve | $79,960 | Nappa leather, 19-speaker McIntosh audio, tri-pane sunroof. |
| Summit Obsidian | $94,310 | Summit content in a monochrome exterior, 22-inch polished wheels. |
| Summit Reserve | $100,310 | Palermo quilted leather, suede headliner, 23-speaker McIntosh. |
Either body can be had in long-wheelbase Grand Wagoneer L form for a flat $3,000 more. The L is the cargo decision, not the legroom decision. More on that below. For the full walk of what each configuration adds, see the Grand Wagoneer trims compared page.

Screens and Sound
Technology and Connectivity
Jeep markets the Grand Wagoneer as offering up to 75 inches of total screen space, and the hardware behind that claim is genuinely unusual in the class. Uconnect 5 NAV comes on every configuration, running 2D and 3D mapping on a 12-inch screen alongside wireless Apple CarPlay support and Android Auto compatibility. The driver display is 10.25 inches on the Grand Wagoneer and Limited and 12.3 inches on Summit.
The piece with no equivalent from Ford or Chevrolet is the available 10.25-inch Front Passenger Interactive Display, built into the dash ahead of the passenger seat. It runs the radio, the navigation, the vehicle cameras, HDMI input and the rear-seat entertainment with Amazon Fire TV built in — so the person in the right seat can work the map or start a movie for the back without reaching across the console. Two 10.1-inch rear-seat screens are available on Limited and Summit.
Audio starts with a nine-speaker Alpine system and steps up to a 19-speaker McIntosh MX950 on Summit. At the very top, the Summit Reserve swaps in the McIntosh MX1375 and its 23 speakers, 24-channel amplifier, 1,375 watts and 12-inch dual voice coil subwoofer. Jeep counts more than 170 standard and available safety and security features across the lineup. The technology and safety page covers the driver-assistance list and the crash ratings in full.

Cabin
Interior and Comfort
Seating is seven as standard, with second-row captain's chairs, and eight with the available second-row bench. Materials climb steadily: perforated Capri leather with an Axis II perforation pattern on the Grand Wagoneer, perforated Nappa on Limited, premium Nappa on Summit, and quilted Palermo leather with a suede headliner on the Summit Reserve. Front seats are twelve-way power and both heated and ventilated from the base trim, and Summit brings 24-way power fronts.
Climate control is tri-zone on most of the lineup and four-zone with a dedicated comfort display on Summit. The available Tri-Pane Panoramic Sunroof is the one worth understanding before you order: the third pane sits over the third row, which is what makes the back of this cabin feel open rather than closed in. It does cost headroom. Third-row headroom drops from 39.0 inches to 38.5 with the sunroof fitted, and the front row gives up two full inches, so it is a genuine trade rather than a free upgrade.

Capability
Towing and Payload Capability
Properly equipped, the headline is 10,000 pounds on a conventional hitch with the four-wheel-drive short-wheelbase build, and the configuration behind it matters more than on most vehicles. That rating belongs to the short-wheelbase Grand Wagoneer with four-wheel drive and the 3.92 axle ratio, which arrives only with the Heavy-duty Trailer Tow package, and Jeep recommends a weight-distributing hitch once gross trailer weight reaches 5,000 pounds. The same truck on the standard 3.55 axle is rated 6,030 pounds, and the rear-drive base car is rated 6,210. If towing is why you are shopping this SUV, the axle is the option that decides it.
| Configuration | Axle | Max trailer weight |
|---|
| Grand Wagoneer 4x2 | 3.55 | 6,210 lbs |
| Grand Wagoneer 4x4 | 3.55 | 6,030 lbs |
| Grand Wagoneer 4x4 | 3.92 | 10,000 lbs |
| Grand Wagoneer L 4x2 | 3.55 | 5,960 lbs |
| Grand Wagoneer L 4x4 | 3.55 | 5,770 lbs |
| Grand Wagoneer L 4x4 | 3.92 | 9,860 lbs |
All figures are properly equipped on a conventional hitch. Whatever you configure, payload lands between about 1,420 and 1,570 pounds depending on configuration. On the 3.92 axle, gross combined weight rating is 15,000 pounds with a conventional hitch, or 16,500 pounds in the properly equipped Max Tow four-wheel-drive configuration. A boat headed for the Peirce Island ramp in Portsmouth or a camper bound for Pawtuckaway State Park sits comfortably inside the properly equipped rating; a heavy twin-axle trailer is where the axle choice stops being academic. Full detail lives on the Grand Wagoneer towing capacity page.
Space
Cargo and Passenger Space
Behind the third row the short-wheelbase Grand Wagoneer holds 27.9 cubic feet, which is a real grocery-and-hockey-bag space rather than a token slot. Fold the third row and it opens to 70.8 cubic feet; fold everything and it reaches 116.7. Step to the Grand Wagoneer L and that becomes 42.6 cubic feet, 14.7 more than the standard body.
Here is the part worth knowing before you pay the $3,000 for the L: third-row legroom is 36.6 inches in both bodies, and second-row legroom is 42.7 inches in both. The extra seven inches of wheelbase go entirely to cargo behind the third row, not to the people sitting in it. Choose the L because you need the trunk with all three rows up, not because you expect more room for passengers. The cargo and third row page has the full breakdown by row.

Safety
Safety and Driver Assistance
Active Driving Assist is standard on every Grand Wagoneer. Jeep's own label for it is hands-on-wheel, eyes-on-road. The system picks suitable roads, holds the vehicle centred and works the throttle and brakes, and your hands stay put throughout. It is not a hands-free system, and it should not be shopped against one.
You also get, at no cost on any configuration: Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path Detection, Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, Pedestrian and Cyclist Emergency Braking, and the Active Lane Management System. Optional additions run to Intersection Collision Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Drowsy Driver Detection, ParkSense Automated Park Assist and a 360-degree Surround View Camera. The Dual-View FamCAM interior camera, with night vision and zoom, is standard on Summit.
Both rating bodies have published results for this vehicle, and the technology and safety page carries them in full, including where they are strong and where they are not — read them at IIHS and NHTSA.
The Decision
Which 2026 Grand Wagoneer Is Right for You?
| If you | Build to shop |
|---|
| Tow a boat or a camper and want the real 10,000-pound rating | Grand Wagoneer 4x4 with the Heavy-duty Trailer Tow package and the 3.92 axle, or the Upland, which bundles the hardware |
| Carry three rows of people plus their luggage every week | Grand Wagoneer L in any trim. The 42.6 cubic feet behind row three is the reason it exists |
| Want the most vehicle for the least money | Base Grand Wagoneer at $63,995, the same engine, same 12-inch screen, same seven seats as the $100,310 car |
| Drive unplowed roads and gravel to a trailhead | Upland, with air suspension, skid plates, all-terrain tires and the two-speed transfer case with a 2.64 low range |
| Want the flagship cabin and the McIntosh system | Summit Reserve, with quilted Palermo leather, suede headliner, 23-speaker MX1375 |
A well-equipped middle pick lands around the Limited Reserve at $79,960 before destination, which is where the Nappa leather, the 19-speaker McIntosh and the tri-pane sunroof all arrive together. Run the numbers on any of these with our payment and pre-approval tools, or see which builds are on the lot right now.

Why Buy the 2026 Grand Wagoneer at Jeep Portsmouth
Jeep Portsmouth is a Jeep-only store at 2355 Lafayette Rd in Portsmouth, NH 03801, and one of the few Jeep-only rooftops in NH, which means the people selling you a Grand Wagoneer work on Jeeps all day and nothing else. You can reach us at (603) 431-8900.
Where a vehicle lives changes what matters about it. Along this stretch of coast the roads carry salt from late fall through the spring thaw, and the salt arrives from two directions, the trucks and the air, which is why the underbody wash matters more here than it would fifty miles inland. That same season is when a full-time four-wheel-drive system with a Snow mode earns its money on an unplowed side road at six in the morning. Come summer the beach corridor fills up and the third row starts carrying other people's kids. It is a vehicle that has to do all of that in one year.
Coverage is the same across the lineup: a 3-year, 36,000-mile basic limited warranty and a 5-year, 60,000-mile powertrain limited warranty, with roadside assistance running 5 years or 60,000 miles. Rust-through protection on the outer panels runs 5 years with no mileage limit, which is worth more on a salted NH coast road than it is in most of the country. Service cadence and the running costs behind it live on the maintenance schedule page.
We are a straight run up I-95 from the Massachusetts line and an easy drive from Dover, Exeter, Rochester and the NH towns along Route 101. When you are ready, get in touch to set up a drive, or value your trade before you come in.

Questions
2026 Grand Wagoneer Frequently Asked Questions
How much is a 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer?
The 2026 Grand Wagoneer starts at $63,995 for the base rear-drive model, excluding the $2,795 destination charge. The lineup runs up through the Summit Reserve at $100,310. Four-wheel drive adds $3,000 on the base trim, and the long-wheelbase Grand Wagoneer L adds a flat $3,000 at every configuration.
How much horsepower does the 2026 Grand Wagoneer have?
420 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 468 lb-ft of torque at 3,500 rpm, from a 3.0-liter Hurricane twin-turbocharged inline-six. Every trim gets the same engine. Nothing in the 2026 range carries the 510-horsepower High Output tune that earlier model years offered.
How much can a 2026 Grand Wagoneer tow?
Properly equipped on a conventional hitch, the ceiling is 10,000 pounds, and reaching it takes three things together: the short wheelbase, four-wheel drive, and the 3.92 axle that comes inside the Heavy-duty Trailer Tow package. Specify the standard 3.55 axle instead and that same four-wheel-drive vehicle carries a 6,030-pound rating; the rear-drive version manages 6,210. Fit the same 3.92 axle to the Grand Wagoneer L and its ceiling is 9,860 pounds.
What is the difference between the Grand Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer L?
The L is seven inches longer in wheelbase and twelve inches longer overall, and all of that goes to cargo. Behind the third row it holds 42.6 cubic feet against the standard car's 27.9. Third-row legroom is 36.6 inches in both and second-row legroom is 42.7 inches in both, so the L does not add passenger room, only luggage room.
How many people does the 2026 Grand Wagoneer seat?
Seven as standard, using second-row captain's chairs. An eight-passenger layout is available with a second-row bench. At 36.6 inches, third-row legroom clears the bar where grown-ups stop counting the miles.
How many miles per gallon does the Grand Wagoneer return?
In rear-wheel drive the short-wheelbase car is EPA-rated 17 mpg city, 24 highway and 19 combined; four-wheel drive costs one highway mile at 17/23/19. Both figures hold on the Grand Wagoneer L in rear-wheel drive, and the four-wheel-drive L is the thirstiest configuration at 16/22/18. All configurations certify on regular gasoline, though Jeep recommends 89 octane.
Does the 2026 Grand Wagoneer have a passenger screen?
Yes. There is an available 10.25-inch Front Passenger Interactive Display set into the dash on the right-hand side. From that seat you can work the map, pick music, pull up a camera feed, use HDMI input or start something on the rear screens through Amazon Fire TV. Jeep's own headline for the cabin is up to 75 inches of total screen space.
Is the Grand Wagoneer still a separate brand from Jeep?
No. Starting with the 2026 model year every Grand Wagoneer wears a Jeep badge, and the lineup absorbed the previously separate Wagoneer models. That consolidation is also why the entry price dropped by more than twenty thousand dollars compared with the 2025 Grand Wagoneer.
