The 2026 Jeep Recon is the fully electric Jeep that still wears a Trail Rated badge; Jeep calls it the only fully electric vehicle to earn one. It makes 650 horsepower and 620 lb-ft of torque from two 250 kW drive motors, carries an EPA rating of 222 miles of range, and starts at $66,995 delivered. The doors come off, the rear quarter glass comes off, and so does the swing gate glass, which on the NH Seacoast is the part most people care about by the second week of May.
This is a Jeep-only store on Lafayette Road, and the Recon is the newest thing on the lot. Powertrain
Every Recon Moab uses the same standard powertrain: two electric drive modules, 250 kW at each axle, making a combined 650 horsepower and 620 lb-ft of torque. Torque arrives the instant you ask for it, which is why a 6,112-pound SUV gets to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds in Sport mode and 3.8 seconds in Auto. Top speed is 112 mph.
Power goes through a single-speed transfer case running full-time active four-wheel drive, with a variable front-to-rear torque split managed by Selec-Terrain. The rear axle runs a 15:1 final drive with an electronic locking differential standard on the Moab; the front runs an open differential at 11:1. Suspension is a short-long arm setup in front and integral link at the rear, on the STLA-Large unibody platform.
The battery is a 400-volt, 100.5-kWh lithium-ion nickel manganese cobalt pack. Jeep seals and waterproofs the pack, the motors and the wiring that runs between them, which is a meaningful detail on a coast where road salt runs from November into March. Efficiency is rated at 80 MPGe in the city, 62 on the highway and 71 combined (fueleconomy.gov). The range and charging page works through what those numbers mean on a Route 16 commute in February.
Trim and price
The Recon launches in one trim, Moab, at $66,995. That figure is the delivered price: the $1,995 destination charge is already inside it, so there is no freight line waiting for you at the desk. A longer-range version is coming later, but it has not been named, priced or specified, so the Moab is the whole lineup today.
Moab is not a base model wearing a badge. Screens and connectivity
Every Recon Moab gets a 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital cluster as standard equipment. Jeep calls that display the largest touchscreen area it has ever put in one of its vehicles. It carries navigation and integrated off-road trail maps; the cluster carries live driving and battery information. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto and 11-speaker Alpine audio are standard on the Moab as well.
Selec-Terrain lives on that screen with five modes: Auto, Sport, Snow, Sand and Rock. Snow is the one Seacoast owners will use most between the first storm and the last thaw, whether that is the Spaulding Turnpike or the shore road through Rye. Cabin
Five seats, 42.3 inches of front headroom and 41.4 inches of front legroom, with 40.6 and 38.5 inches respectively in the second row. Shoulder room runs 58.6 inches in front and 57.6 in back, so three across the rear bench is a real proposition rather than a technicality.
Interiors come in Black or Joshua Tree. Total interior volume measures 111.3 cubic feet by the SAE method, and the two-tiered pass-through centre console is the sort of storage that matters on a beach day. On the Moab, dual-zone automatic climate control and the dual-pane sunroof are both standard rather than options, and the Sky One-Touch Power Top is available for people who want the roof gone entirely. Space and towing
You get 30.3 cubic feet behind the second row and 65.9 cubic feet with that row folded. There is a 3.0-cubic-foot front trunk on top of that, which is the right size for charging cables so they are never in the way of the groceries. Counting both rows and the boot together, the interior comes to 141.5 cubic feet.
Properly equipped with the Trailer Tow Group, the Recon tows up to 3,300 pounds, which covers a pair of personal watercraft or a small utility trailer for a Wallis Sands beach run. Payload is up to 850 pounds. The cargo and interior page translates those volumes into what actually fits.
Off pavement
The Recon runs 9.1 inches of ground clearance on its standard 33-inch all-terrain tires, with a 33.8-degree approach angle, a 33.1-degree departure angle and a 23.3-degree breakover angle. The rear electronic locking differential is standard on the Moab, and Trail Rated status came the way it comes for every Jeep that earns it, through traction, ground clearance, water fording, articulation and manoeuvrability testing.
One structural difference is worth stating plainly, because it is the thing a Wrangler owner will ask about first: the Recon has a single-speed transfer case and no low range. It gets its low-speed control from motor torque, Rock mode and Selec-Speed Control instead of a 4:1 gearset. That is a different tool, and the off-road capability page covers where it excels.
Safety
Jeep counts more than 170 safety and security features as standard on the Recon, and names Rough Road Cruise Control, Pedestrian Emergency Braking and Blind Spot Monitoring among them. Lane keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert and a surround-view camera are standard on the Moab as well.
